About Us
The Donald Brown Educational Foundation (DBEF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) accredited organization established in 2022. It is deeply rooted in the River Parishes community.
The DBEF stands out with its unique scholarship program, offering financial support to graduating high school seniors for their first semester of college. This one-time scholarship is open to all graduating high school students in the River Parishes (St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and St. James Parishes). Each year, we award up to three scholarships, ranging from $500 to $5,000.
Our commitment at the DBEF is to alleviate the financial strain of transitioning from high school to college for first-time, full-time students. We do this through our Annual Scholarship Program, which is designed to make the dream of higher education a reality for all.
We firmly believe in the potential of every student to achieve their dreams. Many high school students aspire to attend college but may not have the financial means to afford the rising costs of tuition and other expenses. We are here to help turn those aspirations into reality.
Our Mission
Provide financial assistance to high school graduates from the River Parishes in their journey to higher learning and making their dreams a reality.
